    Stanhope Station Canopy, Weardale Heritage Railway   

 

 

 

The station canopy received the Ian Allan Award for the best UK station preservation project for 2006. Based on the original NER layout the geometry required to be amended to suit modern clearance requirements and changes to the platform alignment. Full calculations and details were prepared for the approval by HM Railway Inspectorate.
